dc.description.abstractŞerif Mardin, Türk sosyoloji geleneği içerisinde, bağlama öncelik veren bir anlayışla, özgün Türk modernleşme sürecini kıyıda köşede kalmış tüm sorun alanlarıyla, ama/fakat demeden araştıran bir sosyologdur. Mardin, araştırmaları esnasında takındığı metodolojik pragmatizm ve yöneldiği muhteva unsurlarıyla dikkat çeken bir isimdir. Batı kaynaklı epistemolojik perspektifler ile yerel özgün dinamikleri de göz ardı etmeden Türk modernleşmesinin peşine düşen Mardin, Türk sosyal bilimlerinde metodoloji konusunda özgün bir konuma sahiptir. Araştırmalarında kullandığı metodolojilerden ziyade araştırmayı tercih ettiği muhteva unsurları nedeniyle tartışmaların odağında olan Şerif Mardin, bu konumuyla da Türk sosyal bilimlerinin meseleler karşısında takındığı akademik tutuma dair veriler sunan bir turnusol kağıdı görevini icra etmektedir. Tüm bunlara ek olarak Mardin, Osmanlı son dönem incelemeleri, Türk modernleşmesi, ideoloji, kültür, simgeler, merkeze-çevre, toplumsal yapı, kitle toplumu, ulus devlet, iletişim, din, sivil toplum gibi kavram ve kuramların Türkiye'de ki izini sürmede öncü isimlerden biri olarak Türk sosyolojisindeki yerini almıştır. Bu noktada Şerif Mardin'in, Türk toplumunu çözümlemek amacıyla belirlediği yukarıda ki sorunsalların, ne tür metodolojik yöntemlerle araştırıldığının bütünlüklü sunumunu yapmak bu çalışmanın gayesi olarak belirlenmiştir.
dc.description.abstractŞerif Mardin is a sociologist who researches the original Turkish modernization process with all the problem areas that are in the margins, but without saying, with an understanding that gives priority to context within the Turkish sociology tradition. Mardin is a name that attracts attention with the methodological pragmatism he adopted during his research and the content elements he directed. Mardin has a unique position in Turkish social sciences, pursuing Turkish modernization without ignoring the western-based epistemological perspectives and local original dynamics. Şerif Mardin, who is at the center of the discussions because of the content elements that he preferred to research rather than the methodologies he used in his research, performs the task of a litmus paper that presents data on the academic attitude of Turkish social sciences to the issues. Mardin In addition to all these, the Ottoman recent studies, Turkish modernization, ideology, culture, icons, center-environmental, social structure, mass society, nation state, communication, religion, concepts and theories such as civil society tracking down in Turkey on he took his place in Turkish sociology as one of leading names. At this point, it has been determined as the aim of this study to present the above mentioned problems determined by Şerif Mardin in order to analyze the Turkish society, and to present the methodological methods to be investigated.
