Özet
Bir malzemenin karayolu inşaatına uygunluğunu belirlemek için, malzemenin mühendislik özellikleri araştırılarak, malzeme üzerinde çeşitli kalite kontrol deneyleri yapılmalıdır. Söz konusu analizlerin uygulanması karayolunun yüksek standartlarda uzun yıllar hizmet verebilmesinin sağlanması bakımından son derece önemlidir. Bu çalışma Başmakçı kireçtaşının karayolu inşaatına uygunluğunu araştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırmada; Niğde Başmakçı yöresindeki taş ocaklarından elde edilen kireç taşı kayaçlarından alınan numunelerin mühendislik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Başlıca kayaçların mühendislik özellikleri; mineralojik yapı, basınç dayanımı, çekme dayanımı, elastisite modülü, yüzey sertliği, birim hacim ağırlığı, ağırlıkça su emme ve görünür gözenekliliktir. Deneylerden elde edilen sonuçlara göre bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır.
In order to determine the suitability of a material for road construction, various quality control experiments should be carried out on the material by investigating the engineering properties of the material. Application of these analyses is extremely important in terms of whether the highway is able to provide service over long years with high standards. This study was conducted to investigate the suitability of Başmakçı limestone for road construction. In the study; the engineering properties of the samples taken from the limestone rocks obtained from the quarries of Nigde Başmakçı region were investigated. The engineering properties of main rocks are the mineralogical structure, compressive strength, tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, surface hardness, unit weight, water absorption and apparent porosity. According to the results obtained from the tests, an evaluation was performed.
