Özet
Bu araştırma, Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının ilk Türk devletleri hakkındaki algılarının belirlenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmen adaylarının ilk Türk devletleri hakkındaki algılarının belirlenmesi amacıyla Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi'nde eğitim gören Sosyal Bilgiler öğretmenliği öğrencilerine kelime ilişkilendirme testi uygulanmıştır. Uygulanan testte öğrencilere ilk Türk devletlerinden beş tanesinin ismi anahtar kelime olarak sunulmuş ve bu isimlerin kendilerinde çağrıştırdığı cevap kelimeleri yazmaları istenmiştir. Elde edilen veriler kullanılarak her bir anahtar kelimeye verilen cevapların oluşturduğu bir frekans tablosu ve kavram ağları oluşturulmuştur. Analiz edilen veriler ışığında, öğrencilerin bazı Türk devletleri hakkında kavramsal yanılgıya düştükleri belirlenmiştir. Fakat öğrencilerin ilk Türk devletleri ile ilgili algılarının eğitim süresi ilerledikçe olumlu yönde değiştiği görülmüştür. Çalışmanın sonucunda kelime ilişkilendirme testinin, öğrencilerin belirli kavramlar hakkındaki algılarını belirlemede etkili bir yöntem olduğu tespit edilmiştir. This study is aimed to determine the perception of social sciences teacher candidates about the first Turkic countries. In the study, a word association test is applied to the students of Social Sciences Education Department in Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University for determination of perceptions about first Turkic countries. In the word association test the names of five Turkic countries are given as key words and asked for words associated with the countries. Frequency tables and concept maps are created with evaluating answers. As a result, it is determined that there are some misconceptions related to first Turkic countries among teacher candidates. However, these misconceptions are changed in a positive way as the education process advances. Also it is determined that word association tests are simple and efficient methods for determining perceptions of students about a specific concept.
