Özet
Bu araştırmada, Türkçe sözdizimindeki esnekliğin okuduğunu anlama sürecine etkisi incelenmiştir. Cümlenin temel ögelerinden olan "yüklem"in cümle içerisinde konumlandığı yerin okuma sürecini nasıl etkilediğinin araştırıldığı araştırma kapsamında İstanbul'da bir ortaokulda öğrenim görmekte olan beşinci ve sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerine uygulama yapılmıştır. Bu bağlamda nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Her iki sınıf düzeyine yönelik Türkçe ders kitabı olarak kullanılan kitaplardan rastgele beşer metin seçilmiştir. Seçilen metinler yüklemin başta, ortada ve sonda yer alacağı biçimde düzenlenmiş ve metnin özgün haliyle birlikte dört farklı yapıda hazırlanan haliyle her sınıf düzeyi için dörder farklı gruba uygulanmıştır. Daha sonra uzman görüşleri ile Barrett Taksonomisi'ne uygun biçimde hazırlanan metin altı soruları ilgili dört gruba yöneltilmiştir. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre beşinci sınıf öğrencilerinde de sekizinci sınıf öğrencilerinde de yüklemin farklı yerlerde yapılandırıldığı uygulama sonuçları arasında belirgin farklar olmadığı görülmüştür. In this research, the effect of flexibility in Turkish syntax on the reading comprehension process was examined. Within the scope of the research, which investigates how the place where the "predicate", which is one of the basic elements of the sentence, is structured in the sentence affects the reading process, an application was made to fifth and eighth grade students studying at a secondary school in Istanbul. In this context, the relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. Five texts were randomly selected from the books used as Turkish textbooks for both grade levels. The selected texts were arranged in such a way that the predicate would be located at the beginning, middle and end, and the texts with four different formats along with the original form of the text were read to four different groups for each grade level. Then, the textual questions prepared in the base of Barrett's Taxonomy with expert opinions were directed to the these four groups. According to the research findings, it was found that there was no significant difference between the results of the application in which the predicate was Deconstructed in different places in fifth grade students and eighth grade students.
